About La Forme & The Workout

What is La Forme Modern Reformer Pilates?

La Forme Modern Reformer Pilates is a 50-minute, high-intensity, low-impact resistance training class on a modern megacore reformer. We blend Pilates precision with strength training to build long, lean muscle, sculpt the core, and boost endurance. Class sizes stay small for personalized attention from your instructor. We are located in Des Peres, MO, in West County St. Louis and coming soon to the Ballwin / Chesterfield.

Where is La Forme located?

Our studio is at 1167 Colonnade Center, Des Peres, MO 63131, in West County St. Louis. We are easily reached from the stoplights at Ballas & Manchester and Blase Ave & Manchester, with ample on-site parking. A second location is opening in the Ballwin / Chesterfield area in fall of 2026.

How do mega reformer machines change a Pilates workout?

Our megacore reformers integrate strength, cardio, and core training on a single platform. The spring-loaded carriage with adjustable resistance unlocks hundreds of full-body movements. The result: continuous resistance through every range of motion, deeper muscle activation, and progressive overload that builds strength faster than traditional contemporary or mat Pilates.

What are the benefits of high-intensity, low-impact resistance training?

You get the metabolic and strength benefits of high-intensity training without the joint impact of running or jumping. Slow, controlled tempo recruits slow-twitch muscle fibers, builds dense lean muscle, improves posture and balance, supports bone density, and protects your joints. It is effective for every age and stage, from new movers to high-performing athletes.

How does La Forme work my body?

Slow, deliberate movement keeps each muscle under tension for longer, recruiting type 1 (slow-twitch) fibers that traditional workouts rarely fatigue. Our certified instructors progressively load each movement, working one side of the body to fatigue before switching. Every class delivers a full-body session: legs, core, glutes, arms, shoulders, and back.

When will I see results?

Most members feel stronger within two weeks. Visible changes (definition, posture, the fit of your clothes) typically show up around 6 to 8 weeks for those attending 2 to 3 classes per week. Consistency is the most important variable. The La Forme app tracks your attendance so you can stay on rhythm.

Is La Forme suitable for beginners?

Yes. Reformer resistance is fully adjustable, so beginners and experienced movers can practice side by side. Your first class includes a personal orientation to the equipment and the method. Most new members feel confident on the reformer by the end of their first week.

Is La Forme safe during pregnancy or postpartum?

We love supporting expectant and new parents. If you have prior reformer experience and your physician approves, we can accommodate you with trimester-appropriate adjustments. We do not recommend starting reformer Pilates for the first time during pregnancy. Postpartum members should also have physician clearance before returning. See our Perinatal Reformer Pilates page for full details.

Can I take class while recovering from an injury?

Please get clearance from your doctor or physical therapist first. Once you are cleared, we recommend a few private sessions with one of our certified instructors before joining a group class. They will tailor the work to your recovery and help you build back safely.

Are there age restrictions?

Yes. All members must be at least 18 to participate. This is required by our studio and instructor insurance for this format of training.

Booking & Your First Class

How do I book a class at La Forme?

You can book three ways: through the La Forme app (iOS and Android), on our website at laformepilates.com/schedule, or by contacting the studio directly. New to the studio? Start with one of our Introduction Offers (to lock in a special new-member rate.

Do I need to create an account to book?

Yes. An account is required to purchase classes and reserve your spot. Setup takes about two minutes through the La Forme app or our website.

What should I wear to class?

Fitted workout clothes (think yoga or barre attire) so your instructor can see your form and you can move freely on the reformer. Grippy socks are required for safety. We carry a range of grippy sock styles and sizes in our retail area, and members on the FORME 12X plan or higher get their first pair on us.

What should I bring?

A non-glass water bottle and your grippy socks. That is it. We have refill stations, towels, and storage for your belongings. Forgot something? We have backup options at the front desk.

How early should I arrive?

For your first class, please arrive 15 minutes early for an orientation to the studio and equipment. Returning members are encouraged to arrive 5 to 10 minutes early to settle in. Our lobby is a comfortable place to land before or unwind after class.

How do I get to the studio? Is parking easy?

Yes, parking is free and right at the building entrance. We are at 1167 Colonnade Center in Des Peres, MO, just off Manchester Road between the Ballas & Manchester and Blase Ave & Manchester intersections.

Memberships, Packages, and Pricing

What introductory packages do you offer for new members?

Two options based on your readiness:

  • Curious: 3 classes for $59

  • Committed: 8 classes for $160 (recommended if you want to feel real change)

What membership options are available?

All memberships have 3-month and 12-month commitment options. À la carte 5, 10, and 20-class packages are also available.

  • FORME 4X: 4 classes/month, from $99

  • FORME 8X: 8 classes/month, from $189

How do I know which membership is right for me?

  • 2 to 3x/week (FORME 8X or 12X): where most members see visible change

  • 4+x/week (FORME Unlimited): full transformation on an accelerated timeline

Not sure? Reach out to the studio. We will help you choose based on your schedule and goals.

When am I billed for my membership?

Memberships auto-renew monthly on the date you signed up. You can view your billing date anytime in the app under "Packages & Purchases." Class credits refresh each cycle and do not roll over. Used your classes early? Add à la carte classes at member rates or upgrade your plan.

How do I upgrade my membership?

Three ways: through the La Forme app, on our website, or by contacting the studio team.

What do I need to know about class packages? What's the difference between a Reserve pack and a standard class package?

Both our standard and Reserve class packages give you six months to use your classes. The difference happens at the end of those six months: Reserve auto-renews at your locked rate. A standard pack is a one-time purchase you re-buy when you run out. Reserve saves you $14 per pack and lets you skip the repurchasing step.

How long do I have to use my classes?

Six months from the start of your pack, the same as our standard packs. At renewal, your account refills to the full pack count.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Cancel any time before your next billing date. No notice period, no friction.

Will my rate change if prices go up?

Your Reserve rate is locked for as long as your pack stays active. If there is a pricing increase, the Reserve rate will always be a lower price than a standard class package.

Should I do a Reserve pack or a membership?

If you're coming in 1 to 3 times a month, Reserve is the smart pick. If you're in the studio 4+ times a month, a membership will save you more per class. We're paying attention either way: if your visits start to look like a membership would fit you better, our team will reach out to make sure you’re on the right plan for your current chapter of life.

How will I know if I should switch to a membership?

We track visit patterns so you don't have to. If your usage shows a membership would save you more per class than Reserve, we'll reach out. The decision is always yours.

Do you offer discounts for military, first responders, or educators?

Yes. We are proud to offer special pricing for active military, first responders, healthcare workers, and educators. Email hello@laformefitness.com to verify and access your discount.

Can I use HSA or FSA funds for my membership?

Many members can. Email hello@laformefitness.com and we will send the documentation needed to submit to your benefits administrator.

How do I introduce a friend to La Forme?

Send them to our Introduction Offers (3 classes for $59 or 8 for $160). FORME 8X members and above also receive monthly guest passes, and we occasionally release complimentary passes for members to share throughout the year.

Can I book more than one class a day?

You can, but we do not recommend it as a regular practice. Recovery matters with this method. If you are struggling to find class times that fit, contact us. We will help you build a schedule that works.

Waitlist, Late Arrivals & Cancellations

How does the waitlist work?

If a class is full, join the waitlist (you will see "Waitlist" in place of "Book"). You will receive a text or email if you are added to class. Joining the waitlist commits you to attending if a spot opens, so please remove yourself if your plans change. The waitlist closes 2 hours before class starts.

What if I arrive late for my first class?

For safety, we cannot accommodate new clients after class has started. Your credit will return to your account so you can rebook. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early.

What if I arrive late to a regularly scheduled class?

We can welcome returning members up to 5 minutes after class begins. Beyond that, your spot may be released to a waitlisted member. If a waitlisted member is able to join the class, you will not be charged a late cancel or no-show fee.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require 12 hours notice to cancel a class without penalty. Late cancellations and no-shows result in a fee. Full details are in our Studio Policies.

Do you offer refunds for classes or packages?

What is the retail return policy?
